For vehicle shipments, a 17-character VIN is typically a stable identifier. SASCO’s own booking guidance asks for the full 17-digit VIN, and U.S. regulatory guidance
also describes VINs as 17-character numbers.
SASCO distinguishes between standard shipments and “VIP-treatment (shipped as a new car)” when discussing claim eligibility, and instructs customers to coordinate damage reports locally and submit documentation/photos.
